A student of Yannis Pappas and an assistant professor in plaster and bronze casting at the Athens School of Fine Arts, Vassilopoulos was a sculptor of constructivist aspirations who produced works marked by compositional confidence and economy of form. 1 His figurative pieces reveal a creative assimilation of traditional forms and academic manners.
