Special Information for the Artist
He is G. Xenakis’ brother. He studied architecture at NTUA (1942 – 1948) and painting at the Fine Arts (1942 – 1943).He was offered a scholarship from the French government at CSTB (1955 – 1956).Even though he was also offered another scholarship, by the Ford’s foundation (1970 – 1971), he declined it in order to completely focus on his artistic creations. His early attempts are following the paths of description, close to Diamantopoulos, Nikolaou and Tsarouchis. Architecture will lead him to geometrical minimalism, not only at his paintings, but also at his sculptures.
