BIOGRAPHY

Gerasimos Vokos (1868-1927) was a Greek scholar, writer, painter and journalist. He was born in Patra and died in Paris. He is the grandfather of the Professor of philosophy, Gerasimos Vokos.

He began his career as a journalist with a particular inclination as a columnist and editor at major Athenian newspapers of his time. He continued as a writer with several studies and essays by issuing numerous books of varying content.

In the last period of his life, he moved to Paris and engaged in painting with some success even though he was self-taught. His work was inspired firstly by Greek nature (in particular landscapes of Pelion), and partly by the remarkable Parisian life which were "The girls in the woods of Boulogne", "A war widow park" etc. .
