An artist with an enormous range og interests, he began his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Athens with Parthenis, Vikatos and Kontoglous as teachers. Besides painting, he worked as a scenographer and on theatrical costumes. In 1938, he moved to Paris where he came into contact with the uncertainties of the times which he effectively expressed through his works. His painting moves, with total ease, through all thematographic areas and is distinguished for its quality and its expressive abundance. The exceptional power for renewal and the clarity of the theme which entices with its expressive truth, are the determining characteristics if his painting.
