Special Information for the Artist
Painter. She was born in Thessaloniki, in 1954.
She attended her first art lessons in the tutorial of M. Chatzinikoli in Athens and she first worked in a loom in the laboratory of J. Efstathiou. She studied on scholarship at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, drawing with teacher M. Gili, tapestries with M. Silvestri, and mosaic with R. Licata. After returning from France, living permanently in Kala Nera of Volos.
First, she transferred to the carpets her themes of painting, but then her creations in the field of textiles gained autonomy. Her painting is poetic, light and atmospheric, sometimes serene as a sweet memory of dreamlike, and sometimes frightening as a threat to a tight space, located on the edge of vividness and abstraction.
She has presented her work in solo exhibitions and she has participated in group exhibitions. She has painted murals at schools of Volos. She is a member of EETE (Chamber of Fine Arts).
