Special Information for the Artist
Began his art studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts, and after travelling to various capitals, ended up in Paris where he finished his studies at the School of Fine Arts. Between 1930 and 1935 he also travelled extensively, returning to Athens in 1936. In 1939 he painted the murals in the Greek Pavilion at the International Exhibition in New York, where he subsequently settled. His painting has an especially personal style, combining idealistic forms and classical features with a strongly surrealistic and poetic atmosphere.
