Special Information for the Artist
Painter, engraver and printer. Born in Heraklion of Crete, 1951.
He studied typography at the School of Fine Arts of Athens and book art (1971-1973), painting and engraving(1984-1989) with teachers G. Papadakis, N. Kessanlis and T. Exarchopoulos. During 1975-1989, he worked as a typographer at the private printing house that he and his siblings founded. Initially worked on engraving and his compositions were about landscapes, figures and scenes of everyday life, bicycles and motorcycles.
The art of balancing between representational art and abstraction, while synthetic and clarity, directness and intensity expressionistic, gestural writing, dark and earthy colors reflect the experiential relationship with the landscape.
