Special Information for the Artist
Painter and engraver. She was born in Thessaloniki, in 1951.
She studied painting and engraving at the School of Fine Arts (1980-1985) with professor D. Mitara, P. Tetsis and Th. Exarchopoulos and continued with postgraduate studies in London at the Royal College of Art and St Martin's School of Art (1986-1990). In London, she mainly dealt with the engraving, engraving on the technique of etching and tonal “velonografias”.
Derived from the world of nature specific forms, which incorporated in the compositions and combined freely, creating new, imaginary images of atmospheric pollutants. In contrast to the engravings, in her paintings disclaims the space of reality and vivid writing.
She has presented her work in solo exhibitions and has participated in group exhibitions. Her works can be found at the Gallery of Cyclades, Syros, in the Ionian Bank, the Ministry of Culture, the Macedonians Artistic Society "Art" etc.
In 1989 she was elected as a member of the Special Education Personnel of Fine Arts in 1991 on the initiative of the Cultural Association of Hydra, undertook to organize children's painting workshop on the island, where she taught four years. She is a member of EETE (Chamber of Fine Arts).
