BIOGRAPHY

Painter and engraver. Born in Athens, in 1950.

Initially she studied close to P. Sarafianos, N. Nikolaou and G. Morali. She finished the engraving workshop of Fine Arts, taught by Mr. Grammatopoulos. She continued her studies at Ecole des Beaux-Arts (1974-1977) in Paris with teacher G. Dayez.

Her main work is reflected in the technique of woodcut, while she dealt with lithography, engraving, painting with black and colored pencils, and microcircuits in bronze. The first of her works depict old dilapidated buildings, parts of machines and everyday objects, and later her interest focuses on still-life paintings, dominated folds, crumpled paper, fruits and glassware.

She has presented her work in solo and has participated in group exhibitions. Her works can be found in Municipal Gallery of Athens, Rhodes, etc. She has been honored with awards of engraving: Academy of Athens, 1980, House of Arts and Letters, 1985, etc. During the periods 1982-1985 and 1990-1997, she taught freehand drawing at Vakalo School. In 1991 she founded the club "Group Art and Philosophy" in Agia Paraskevi, where she taught with her husband, sculptor K. Rocco and other partners. She is a member of EETE (Chamber of Fine Arts).
