He was born in Stemnitsa of Gortinia, in 1867 and died in Athens, in 1920.
A painter who is well known for his work on historical and war themes. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts and as a student of Gysis in Munich while later he went to Paris and worked with well-known artists.
Upon his return to Greece he was appointed professor at the School of Fine Arts and took part as a painter on war themes, in the war of 1897 and in the Balkan Wars of 1912-13.
His works on war themes are distinguished for their truth and often for their impressionistic emphasis, while his portraits are imposing with their external integrity and their esoteric expression.
