BIOGRAPHY

He was born in Naxos, in 1931.

He studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts (1956-1960) under M. Tombros. He continued with studies of chalkochytikis in the foundry of B. Bearzi in Florence (1962-1964). Studied painting in Florence and the technique of fresco under F.Lorandi.

His sculptures in plaster, clay, wax, bronze and wood, are focusing on the human form, which appears in compositions or piecemeal. From the realism of the first sculptural creations will go to projects with abstract and generalized data, which, however, one can recognize natural forms. Moreover, his work shows influences from archaic sculpture and the expressionism.

The themes of his paintings include compositions of portraits, pastoral landscapes, ancient ruins, doves, musical instruments and combinations of these issues. A theme which is associated with experiences of his childhood, is the motherhood.

He has presented his work in solo exhibitions:
• «Cancelli», Florence, 1964
• «Il Lippi», Prato, Italy, 1964
• «Spinetti», Florence, 1965
