Takis Parlavatzas was born in Piraeus. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Athens, Amsterdam and Paris and graduated. Those 10 years of studies include painting, sculpture, engraving, vitrail, mosaic and monumental art, fresco and other techniques. He has exhibited at 9 Pan-Hellenic, in many solo and group exhibitions with many of his works in various techniques. He executed large projects such as the mural painting of 100 m2 at Hall of Nea Smyrni, 1,000 m2 at Flisvos’ Marina, 24 m2 vitraux of Athens City Hall, etc. For his paintings he won the award of Athens Academy in the 11th Pan-Hellenic. Many sculptural monuments and busts are erected in various cities as Samothrace, Santorini, Lemnos, Glyfada, Kamena Vourla, Piraeus, Volos, and Thessaloniki.
His writings include books and articles on the visual arts.
For his book "The Aesthetic Categories in Contemporary Art", was honored in 1973 with the prize of the Athens Academy. He was a member of EETE and Chairman of the Crisis and classifications Comity in the year 2000 to 2001. He had an active part in conferences and exhibitions organized by EETE
