BIOGRAPHY

Spyros Papanikolaou was born in 1905 in Monastery clover.
He studied sculpture at Athens School of Fine Arts (1927-1932) and served as an assistant in the laboratory of T. Thomopoulos until 1937. Since 1937 he turned to painting. He created sceneries for National Theater next to K. Klonis, sceneries for Free Theater, and finally close to F. Kontoglou since 1960 and dealt with hagiography for five years. He died in Athens in 1986.

He has presented group exhibitions in Greece (PanHellenic 1939, 1948, 1952, 1957, 1960, 1963, 1967, 1969, 1971) and one in Sweden.
