BIOGRAPHY

He studied painting in Rome, at the Academy of Saint Luke in 1868-1869. He returned to Corfu in 1870, to teach painting at the Kapodistrias School initially and then at his own school. Initially, he dealt with the depiction of historical subjects from the events of his time. He also dealt with the painting depicting scenes and landscapes. He is the first painter from Ionian Islands, who grappled with such issues. His work "Arkadi", presented at the National Exhibition of Zappeion in 1875. He also participated in the International Exhibition of Paris in 1878 with a landscape.
