Special Information for the Artist
He took his first design classes from painter S. Magklis. Later, he studied at the School of arts (1879 – 1886) wood engraving and wood sculpting, taught by A. Roberto. In 1886, after completing his studies, he went to Rome, under the scholarship that was offered to him by the Greek government at Academia di Belle Arti. Later, he was taught by H. Hofmann and N. Gizi at the Munich Academy. Academic realism with intense face expressions, sculptural design and vivid colours are elements we can find in his paintings.
