BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1936.

He studied painting at Athens School of Fine Arts (1954-1968) with teachers G. Morali and G. Mavroidis, as well as fresco and technique of portable Byzantine pictures near to K. Georgakopoulos (1966-1968). He took courses at the department of Byzantine History of École Pratique des Hautes Études (1969) in Paris. In 1969 he was elected assistant in the laboratory of G. Mavroidis at Athens School of Fine Arts, where from 1989 he teaches as assistant professor techniques of painting and technology of materials.

His first painting period was focused on the representational art, while in the dues of decade of 80’s he went on in abstract compositions, where the expressionistic vocabulary and a free writing dominate.

He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts.

His work can be found in the National Gallery, in the Gallery of Athenians, Larissa, Kalamata, Florina, in Nation Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation collection, in the Ministry of Culture etc. He collaborated in hagiography-decorating of temples with  P. Lapoyrta (St. Barbara, Kallithea), P. Sideri, (Holy Mary Myrtidiotissa, N. Faliron) etc.
