Special Information for the Artist
Maria Maragkoudaki was born in Chania.
She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts with D. Mitaras. She graduated with honors. Parallel, she attended scenography with G. Ziakas and courses of fresco and technique of icons in the workshop of G. Xynopoulou. With a scholarship from I.K.Y. she attended courses at 'Ecole Nationale Supériere des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the workshop of Carron.
She worked as a set designer assistant with Dimitris Mitaras for the art theater. In 2005 she completed with honors her graduate studies at the University of Athens in the section of Byzantine Archaeology.
She has held three solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. Her works are found in private collections and museums.
