Special Information for the Artist
George Mansolas is a Greek - American graphic designer and an artist living in Athens, Greece. He was born in 1929 in Chicago, U.S.A and lived there up to the mid 1960's. He studied Architecture for two years at the University of Illinois and continued his studies, where he graduated from the Institute of Design of Illinois Institute of Technology (Bauhaus).
During his career in USA he was honored many times with the Graphic Art Prize from American Society of Typographic Arts and he collaborated with many known brands in Chicago as a graphic designer. In the late 60`s he moved to Athens, Greece where he worked as an Art Director at Adel Advertising (1963-1967), then at Olympic Advertising (1970-1975).In the late 70/s he decided to open his own studio called "Word&Image", where again he collaborated with many well known companies in Greece.
