Constantinople 1879 - Athens 1928
Undoubtedly one of the most significant landscape painters, not only in Greek but also in European art, during the first decades of the 20th century. He graduated from the Polytechnic School of Constantinople as an architect and continued his studies in painting in Paris with Henri Martin as his teacher. He came to Greece in 1913 and in 1914 was appointed architect for the City of Thessaloniki. During the following years he took part in many exhibitions as a landscape painter.
