Venice 1822 - 1902
A landscape artist and professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts. Lanza studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In 1848 he was exiled by the Austrians for his liberal ideas and settled first in Patra and later in Athens. In 1863 he was elected professor of Graphic, perspective and Stage Design at the Athens School of Fine Arts and at the Military Evelpidon Academy. His work, oil painting and watercolours, is focused in landscape paintings with ancient monuments and ruins.
