Special Information for the Artist
Born in Kaspi of Georgia, in 1940. She studied painting and engraving at the Polygrafic Institute of Lvov of Ukraine (1962-1967) with teacher V. Obtsinikof. He worked above 20 years as art director of Central Editorial House of Uzbekistan. There he worked out progressive systems and methods while he had also the assiduity of illustration of books and artistic publications with engravings. He uses various techniques and his topics are drawn mainly from the space of world poetry and mythology.

He was honoured with medals in the former USSR, the USA, Czechoslovakia, and Norway. His work can be found in the museums of Petersburg, Noykoys, Moscow, Tashkent etc. He dealt also with settings of theatre as well as with exhibition posters. Books with his engravings were published in Hungary, Greece, Yugoslavia, Uzbekistan, India, Russia, Japan. In 1988, he was a candidate member of Academy of artists of former USSR. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts.
