Special Information for the Artist
Stavros Kotsireas was born in Athens in 1960. His family emigrated to Brisbane, Australia in 1963 where he spent his early childhood. They returned to Greece in 1968. In 1980 he began a two year apprenticeship with the scenographer and painter Vasili Fotopoulo. In 1984, he began five years studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, in Hague, Netherlands. There Kotsireas majored in Painting, Drawing and Graphic Arts. After education in 1989, he then went on to complete a one year postgraduate course in scenography and costume design. Stavros Kotsireas lives and works in the United Kingdom. His work can be found in numerous private, public and corporate collections, in Australia, Cyprus, Germany, Hellas, South Korea, The Netherlands, the U.K and the U.S.A.
