Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig and the Grande Claumiere Academy in Paris. He mostly painted Greek landscapes in an impressionist style. Participated in a variety of progressive artistic activities in Athens, such as the foundation of the "Atelier" with Vyzantios and others.
