BIOGRAPHY

Emilio Greco was born in Catania in 11 October 1913. He lived in Rome, and was Professor of Sculpture at the headquarters of the Academy of Fine Arts. He taught in Munich at the invitation of the Academy in Salzburg.

He has been awarded with the «Gran Premio della Scultura» Venice Biennale (1956) and «Medaglia d'Oro del Presidente della Rebubblica per I Benemariti della Scuola, della Cultura e dell 'Arte» (1961) is part of the Academy of San Luca and Belgian Royal Academy.

Has built a monument to Pinocchio Kollonti, the monument of Pope John in St. Peter, the doors of the Cathedral at Orvieto. The Hakone Open Air Museum has been granted for a permanent exhibition area of 1800 square measures, named «Greco Garden».
