Special Information for the Artist
He was born in Athens in 1964. He studied painting and engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1984-1989), under N. Kessanlis. Human and animal figures, trees and boats, some of them on strictly geometrical contexts, become in his works coded symbols within the abstract plan, the simple chromatic scale, gestural writing, reminiscent of cave paintings and refer to primordial memories. He has shown his work in solo ("Maria Papadopoulou", 1992, 1996, "Olga Georgandea", 1995) and group exhibitions (National 1987 Athens '87 Visual Arts, 1989 Biennale of Young Artists, Bologna, 1988, etc.). His works can be found in the Municipal Gallery of Athens. He is a member of EETE.
