Special Information for the Artist
Maria Giannikou was born in Mytilini. She attended the School of Fine Arts, in Thessaloniki, studying painting in the laboratory of A. Theofylaktopoulou and engraving in the laboratory of G. Milios, in Athens. Since 2000 lives and works permanently in Mytilini, maintaining artistic workshop in Varia, next to the Museum of Theophilos and Teriade. She has made two solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greek and European cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki, Hydra, Mykonos, Mytilini, London and Munich. Her works are in private and public collections in Greece and abroad. In Mytilini, she exhibited for third time in 2000 and 2004 at the Yeni Mosque and the Bazaar Hamam, respectively.
