Special Information for the Artist
Born in Livadia in 1948.
A self-educated artist whose interests are more in sculpure, ceramics, engraving and scenography than painting. He is well known for his book illustrations. A distinctly personal surrealistic language dominates his paintings, which are based on problematic space, the combination of unrelated themes and the poetic arrangement as a whole. In his more characteristic efforts, Geros combines, in an exceptionally persuasive manner, the nobility and the material content of the colours with the precision of the outline and the common themes with the undefined space. In some of his works, symbolic elements also play a major role.
