First, he studied painting in Smyrni under Antoniades, and then since 1896 at the Art School in Athens under G. Iakovidis, N. Lytras and G. Roilos. In his work he developed a classical type of Plein Air Painting based on academic realism. He also turned his hand to the ethography, seascapes, portraitures and still life.
