Special Information for the Artist
Born in Melissi of Korinthos, 1934. He studied painting and engraving at the School of Fine Arts of Athens (1958-1963), with teacher G. Moralis. From 1967 up to 1975 he worked in Paris. He taught in the Centre of Technological Research, in Vakalo School and later in the School of Fine Arts (lecturer). From 1984 he is professor in the School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In his work, social and ideological speculation is distinguished, reflection of the political and social situations of the times (dictatorship' 67 in Greece, May' 68 in France). He uses selective colours, which have symbolic character. His art distinguishes synthetic austerity and discipline.
