BIOGRAPHY

Patra 1870 - 1915

After spending his childhood in Patra, he studied at Athens School of Fine Arts (1886-1893) under professors Nikiphoros Lytras and Konstantinos Volanakis. He began to exhibit in 1899 when he participated in the Exhibition of Athens and then presented  his works in group exhibitions in Athens and Alexandria.

During the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913, he embarked, by government order, on warships and captured scenes of the actions carried out by the Greek fleet. Known mainly as a painter of seascapes, he was also dealt with landscapes and the depiction of scenes from lives of farmers and fishermen, sometimes appearing to be an adherent of academicism or of open air approaches.
