Special Information for the Artist
He studied at the Akademie der Kunste in Berlin from 1907 to 1910. He worked on stage design and in his quest to state his feeling for images he soon exceeded the plain naturalism. More than fifty of his portraits are known to exist. He was one of the most famous stage-designers of his time.
