BIOGRAPHY

She was born in Argostoli in the island of Kefalonia in 1922. She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1943-1949), where, part of the time her teacher was K. Parthenis. She then attended engraving lessons at the laboratory of G. Kefallinos. Initially she was influenced by K. Parthenis and later by G. Tsarouchis, P. Vasileiou, A. Asteriadis, G. Manousakis etc. Her personal style is characterized by tendency for molding, expressionistic use of colours, lyric tendency, connection with the past and the popular tradition  She works  extensively  on  landscapes, while she also paints  interiors and occasionally   portraits. She also got involved in with stage direction, scenography, illustration of books and as an art reviewer... She has been honored with commentations and medals from the Athens Academy and other Greek and foreign iculural institutions. Her works can be found at EPMAS, in Ioannina and Rhodes, at the National Bank, at Korgialeneios Library, Argostoli etc.
