She was born in Athens. She studied painting in the Athens School of Fine Arts under G. Mauroidis, D. Mutaras and P. Tetsis. At the same time she worked at the laboratory of Visual Arts of the School of Architecture of the Athens Technical Universtity under professor L. Lameras. Later on, she continued her studies in the Ecole Nationale Superieur des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

Her paintings are found in several private collections both in Greece and abroad, as well as in the art gallery “Bigla” in Crete. Furthermore, at this time her work can be seen at the art gallery “Talento” in Glyfada, Athens. Argyri Agavanaki also works with photography. Her last work was presented at Booz in Athens within the Month of Photography in October 2007.
