Mosaic
A drawing which is formed by colored clay, glass, marble or wooden cubes which are glued on a background of small cement and is used for decorations of walls, floors and ceilings. The drawings of the mosaic can be either pictorial or abstract character. The Romans were the first, who used this type of art on a large scale, while the first Christians continued the tradition and the Byzantines led this to an unsurpassed level since then.
