Watercolour (or Aquarelle)
Painting with colors which are dissolved in water, on white or colored paper (colors "tied" with gum arabic or other similar substances). Known as a species since Egypt's second century, was established as one of the principal types of paintings by Dürer. Kozens, Gkertin, Cotman and Turner created, in the 19th century, a remarkable tradition of watercolors in the English art.
