Significant form
Term was used in 1913 by the English art critic Clive Bell to denote the essence of artworks, which is determined by the types and the relationships between them. By Bell, the form is the actual content of the artwork, while the other contents (eg, the narrative and symbolic elements) have only secondary importance.
