Salon des Refuses
Special exhibition organized in Paris in 1863 and included the works of those who had been rejected by the official Salon of that year. The mandate of the organization was given by Napoleon III, after the general outrage caused by the discharge of the committee. Manet, Boudin, Cézanne, Pissarro, Jongkind, Fantin-Latour and Whistler were the most important artists who have been participated.
