St. Aivs, School of
In 1939, A. Stokes invated B. Nicholson and B. Hepworth to leave London and to establish with him in St. Aivs of Cornwall. Soon, St. Aivs became a center of artistic creation, with the participation of artists like N. Gumbo and A. Wallis - and was a pole of attraction for many younger artists like P. Lanyon, A. Davy, T. Frost, P. Héron, G. Scott, and R. Chiton.
