Prague, School of
School of painting flourished in the second half of the 14th century at the court of the Emperor Charles IV in Prague, where they had gathered artists from Germany, Italy and France. The common characteristic of these painters, by whom the most important was Théodoric of Prague and the Masters of Hohenfurt and Vitingau, was a realistic style, influenced by Giotto and the International Gothic style of Germany.
