Hudson River School
A fairly general term that refers to a series of American romantic painters of landscape during the 19th century. Their common characteristics were the admiration for the greatness of the American nature and the rigor to the performance of the details. The name is due to the fact that the most important of these artists were working mostly, if not exclusively, in the region close to Katskil Mountains and Hudson River.
