Patina
A thin layer by green color that covers (as a result of their chemical erosion) the bronze statues, when staying for a long time exposed to the air or are buried underground. Often, the term is used for all kinds of oxide which is formed on the surface of other metals and by extension, for the side that gets the surface of furniture, silverware, etc. over the years.
