Tapestry
A woven and decorative work which is hanging on wall or stretched and is usually large. Sometimes, the panels are based on draft (cartoon) of a great painter. In ancient times, refers as a kind of Aeschylus, and are known and relevant the works of Coptic art (3rd-12th century AD). Already, since the 14th century in Western Europe, there were famous workshops of carpet, in which were produced high quality screens (Brussels, Aubison, Goplen, Savoneri, Aras, Beauvais, Tournai, Madrid, etc.). In the 20th century, the workshops of Gobelins and Aubison revived the tradition of manufacturing wood, based on projects of great artists (Matisse, Maillol, Picasso, Derain, Dufy, Green, Lyrsa).
