Term that was invented by Apollinaire, in 1913, to describe some tables of painitng of Delaunay, of Léger, of Picabia, of Duchamp, of Kupka, etc. Finally, the term was introduced only in relation to the works of Delaunay, and his wife Sonia Terc-Delaunay, who were experimenting with circles and strips of color and were supporting the primacy of the color against the form.
