Optical Art
Term used in the decade of 1960 for works of abstract painters like C. Albers, B. Vasarely, B. Railey, etc. OP Art is only interested in the purely artistic impressions and is heavily based on the visual "illusions". Often, its paintings include sets of small shapes, lines or vivid colors that seem to move continuously. Some of the best samples of the species are the compositions in black and white.
