Neo-impressionism
Type of painting of the late 19th century, also known as Pointillism or Divisionism. Seurat, Signac, C. Pissarro and Crau, and also Van Gong, Toulouse-Lautrec and Matisse in some of their projects, were the most characteristic representatives of this type. Mixing pigments on the painter's palette is replaced by the use of pure colors in small spots or splotches. These fragmented surfaces of vivid colored spot produce, when seen from the right distance, richer color effects and more delicate than those achievable with the conventional arts.
