New Realism
Term first used by the French critic Pierre Restany, in his manifesto in 1960. He was referring to a group of French artists (Jean Tinguely, César, Y. Klein, Arman, etc.) who rejected the dominant at that time free abstraction and was directed towards any kind materials and objects which derived from everyday life in big cities.
