New English Art Club, NEAC
Company that organized exhibitions. Was founded in 1886, as a reaction to the Royal Academy’s convention from artists, who were looking mainly for a revival of naturalism. Steer and Sickert were members of this Company. With the formation of Camden Town Group, in 1911, and of London’s Group in 1913, the role of NEAC was downgraded and its importance was limited.
