Mobile
A type of sculpture that was invented by Calder, in 1930. A series of objects in different shapes which hang from a wire rod in such a way as to move continuously changing positions when exposed to an air stream. By moving in space, mobile exceeds the traditionally static nature of sculpture (kinetic art).
