Conceptual art
Type of art and proportional theory which was developed in late 1960's as a logical consequence of minimal art. Its main features, the questioning of the whole idea of "art" (whether is referred to anything else than herself, etc) and the validity of the classical work of art in particular, and the use of concepts as "raw material". Since the physical form is not necessary for the presentation of concepts and the concept is usually the starting point of a work of art, conceptual artists are facing the traditional media and the physical objects as unnecessary. Ideas and information are presented and thus transmitted through written proposals, maps, photographs, documents, films, videos, and above all the language itself. Major Representatives of this movement can be considered American artists such as D. Hebler G. Kosut and L. Wiener and the English group Art and Language.
