Minimum art or Minimalism
Art movement and style of the 1960's. Started from the United States and initially focused on three-dimensional objects. In sculpture, was expressed by structures that try to redefine our ideas about the space, the shape and the scale. Its main characteristic is the absolute rejection of any expressive element. The synthesis method that is used is cognitive-rational and usually involves a juxtaposition of similar and interchangeable units (often mathematical origin or offers in geometrical combinations, cannabis or repetitions), which may be reproduced or extended in perpetuity. K. Andre, D. Flavins, D. Judd and R. Morris, most of whom have also written theoretical writings, are some of the protagonists of this movement.
